It was a Saturday, we were going to
Tainan. My original plan was to go on a Friday then I realized their tourist
bus 99 only has 3 bus scheduled for weekday.
Weekend has more buses scheduled, best to go on weekend if you intend to
take the tourist bus 88 and 99.
We took the KRTC to Kaohsiung Train Station to
take train to Tainan. We bought the train with seat assigned and express, it
will skip a number of stops unlike the local train.
There are 2 tourist bus in Tainan, bus 88
and 99. We were taking bus 99, please note that not all bus 99 goes to Cigu
Salt mountain. I suggest visit Cigu 1st as in the late afternoon
some buses will skip Cigu Salt Mountain. We only notice that when we are at
Cigu waiting for bus to return back to Tainan train station.
Our 1st stop is Tainan old
street to settle our lunch then visit the old fort.
Take bus 99 from
the same bus stop we alighted to Green tunnel. Alight at the bus stop opposite this
temple. Sihcao Eco Culture (Dajhong temple) - 四草大眾廟-四草綠色隧道.
The boat ticket (NT200) could be purchase
from the booth beside the temple. The boat ride is about 30minutes. There is a
guide on the boat to intro the plants and what to look out for.
Then we took the bus 99 to Cigu Salt
Mountain. It is a tiny mountain. The place is very windy, I enjoy the wind.
There are some stalls selling food.

back to Tainan station.
