We took the KRTC to ZuoYing station exit
1, bus platform 2 has a bus that goes to straight to FoGuangShan 佛光山. There is a bus schedule for this direct bus. We just
missed the bus and the next bus is another 40mins wait. I decided to look at
the other platform if there are other buses. This E-Da bus 8501 does go to
FoGuangShan but it will go to a few other places before reaching the temple. It
is nice to take the bus and tour around the area, take it as a form of
sightseeing. We used our IPASS to pay for the fare.
FoGuangShan temple and FoGuangShan
memorial hall are 2 different places. 1st
we alight at the temple and start our journey of sightseeing. At the foot of
the temple, enter the cave to view the statues.
Do have some small change as we need to give any amount as a donation to enter the cave. Along the way there are some other donations boxes.
Climb up the stairs to the temple. Do take note of the signboard outside the place you are to enter, some parts need to remove footwear and photography is not allowed.
After visiting the temple, went back down the temple, look out for this building which we bought a NT20 per pax to take ride in a car to the FoGuangShan Memorial Hall.
There is a vegetarian buffet NT100 at
level 2. As photography is not allowed, I only snap photo of my plate. Use the
same plate if you are going for 2nd round. We are supposed to return the plate
the collection point outside the dining area.
We walking the sidewalk and in each Pagoda
is information center. We went up the building to the level closest to the
Buddha. Do set aside at least half a day for FoGuangShan.
We took a bus to the KRTC station to take
the train to Central Park Station exit 2. Shinkuchan Shopping District 新堀江 is like our shopping Bugis street.
