Scoot Airline had SG50 promotion which
the return flight was SGD0.50 before tax! I led my 2 aunts and cousin to
Kaohsiung. The flight was at 6am and we will reach Kaohsiung at 10am. Upon
reaching Kaohsiung airport, the first thing was to buy the prepaid sim card for
internet access. 7days unlimited internet
access and NT150 call value, cost NT500.
KRTC (Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation) station is just right beside the airport. Next important thing to buy was the IPASS (mrt card), paid a deposit NT100 and top up NT200.
Sunnyside Hotel 六合日麗飯店 is about 5mins walk from Formosa Boulevard Station.
Formosa station is one of the tourist stop as it known as the Dome of Light.
We left our luggage in our room and head toward Cijin Island 旗津島. KRTC to Sizihwan station and exit 1, turn left and walk straight until end of path, turn right. We used the IPASS to pay for the ferry fare.
Level 1 of the ferry is for motorbike and bicycle; all passengers will be on level 2. The ferry took about 10mins to reach Cijin island.
We walked down the street to the stall near the temple and order noodle as lunch. The noodle texture is like our handmade La Mien but it is harder, more “Q”, a bit hard to digest. I prefer Bee Hoon.
We booked a cab to bring us around the island. 2hr for NT650. Here are some of the spots the driver brought us.
On the island there were a number of dogs
and this black dog followed us and my aunts were scared.
After the 2 hours taxi ride, we took the ferry back to the main island. This stall is located at the exit of Formosa station has many people visit during the day, we decide to have the duck bee hoon soup for dinner.
The famous LiuHe night market is just at the doorstep of our
hotel. Here are some of the stalls:
