Beacon Hotel Taichung

“Let’s stay near night market”, that is my thoughts when I am choosing Beacon Hotel. I am glad with my choice. Beacon Hotel is located in Fengjia Night Market. During our 2 night stay we bought dinner from Fengjia Night Market back to hotel to eat in comfort.

The reception is located at level 12. Beacon hotel is very popular and I try to book twin room they only left with double room.

Room is clean. Do note room light control buttons are found on the telephone. I was searching high and low for the button to off the light in the room to sleep and I could not find it and I decide to call the front desk then realized all the control are on the telephone.

Dreamtown Minsu 嵐山小鎮

There are many minsu in Cingjing. Some blogger has given a good review on Dreamtown Minsu 嵐山小鎮, so I decided to stay there.

Dreamtown is built on a slope, some of the rooms are below the reception area which we need to walk a few flight of stairs down. There is a carpark the bottom of the Minsu which our driver drove us via the road beside the Minsu to the carpark below.

We are assigned a corner room; it is of a comfortable size. There is a sofa, 2 single seat chairs and in the bathroom there is bathtub. It is too cold to enjoy the bathtub. I just want to bathe the fastest speed and wear back my thick clothing.

We placed an order prior our arrival at the Dreamtown, we wanted steamboat dinner for 2 pax. It is NT280/pax. Lots of vegetable and I opted for beef. Oh it is a bit tough. Overall the steamboat is enjoyable.

Night temperature is around 10 degree or maybe lower. The bed has a heater mattress, we can sleep in nice temperature.

Wake up early in the morning the weather is cold~. Breakfast in Dreamtown, cooked dished are mostly vegetable. I choose beside the window the view is awesome and peaceful.

More photos of the Dreamtown.

Book the room via their website.

Taiwan 30Dec2015 to 03Jan2016 - Day 4 and 5

Checked out from hotel and we took the HSR to Taipei. This time we took the business class, NT1000. The experience is good. We are served with a drink and a small cake. Leg room.

Hotel Puri is located at XiMen station exit 6, about 3 minutes walk away. We left our luggage at the hotel and we head for the steamboat buffet 瘋麻辣頂級鴛鴦麻辣火鍋 at the street behind the hotel.  NT700 per pax on a weekend.

We took the MRT to Xinbeitou, follow the signboard to walked toward thermal valley. That spot is relatively small and there are a lot of people. The steam constantly rises from the water and makes the place misty.

We walked around to look for place that has hot spring bath in an enclosed room. It cost NT720 for 1 hour, it is a small living room with a tv and a separate toilet where the bath tub is.

After the hot spring bathe, we took the MRT to Jiantan Station (劍潭) which is a number of stops away. Shilin Night Market is nearby, we reached there before 5pm the place is not packed with people, some stall just start preparing to open. We walked for a while and the place started to get crowded, we decide to go to Shida as my friend want to take a look at the clothes selling there for idea. We did not manage to any stuff there as the clothes are for winter not suitable for Singapore.

Day 5
We went to Longshan temple and pray. As it was raining, I did not manage to capture any photo. As out flight is 3pm, we still have some time after visiting the temple, we went to Taipei main station and walked in the basement link way. Shin Kong Mitsukoshi open at 11am and we went straight to the food basement. I settle my lunch there. The teppanyaki is good and the portion is big.

Home sweet home.
