Day 1 Bangkok - 09Apr15 to 13Apr15

Jetstar has self check in counter at terminal 1. Simply scan the bar code on the itinerary and follow the instruction on screen and proceed. The system will print your boarding pass. Those with check in baggage will proceed to the baggage check in system, place the baggage on the machine and a baggage label will be printed, tape the label on the handle of the luggage.

Reached Bangkok airport and my brother bought 1 SIM card at AIS teleco. THB299 for 7 days of unlimited data usage and THB100 worth of talktime. We need the local line to contact our hired driver for the next few days.

At the new Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, their taxi system is very organised. Press on the system and it will assign a taxi to you. On the slip the taxi lot number will be printed, mine is lot 4, walked toward lot 4 and there is taxi for us. I guess Singapore is lagged back in this Taxi system.

It took about 45 minutes to reach VIC 3 Bangkok hotel, cost THB720 include THB70 toll fee. VIC 3 Bangkok is located at a stone throw distance to the BTS (train).

We took BTS from Sanam Pao station to Siam station, cost THB28. We went to the basement of Siam Paragon for our late lunch. Miyatake Sanuki Udon, selling Udon only with fried stuff as side dish. I ordered the clam udon, small bowl THB139 This place has return bowl system, we have to return the bowls to counter.

This is Thai desserts has 2 flavors, sweet and savoury. 1 piece is THB12. I prefer the savoury one.

We walked to Central World via skylink. Central World is too much like shopping mall in Singapore. We walked further down the road to Platinum Mall. Along the way there are some stall by the road side. Stalls by roadside is a common sight in Bangkok.

Spotted this interesting tuk tuk store outside Platinum Mall selling fanciful ice cream. Check out my chocolate banana flavor ice cream. Yummy. THB80.

The platinum mall has 2 buildings linked via a sky-bridge. the main building has many more shops. Level 1 to 3 are ladies clothes. so many people at the mall on a weekday. Some item are cheap THB200. Need to keep a lookout for the word "SALE" n price boldly written. If no big n bold price tag written, likelihood the clothes are above THB400. I have asked some shop selling unique and nicer clothes and they are above THB500.  :(

I only intend to spend THB300 to THB350 on a piece of clothes there. In 2 hour, I only manage to get 1 shirt at THB200 for myself and 2 blouses for my nieces at THB200 each.

We left the Platinum Mall, head for Alpaca View Farm for dinner. Bad traffic and took an hour to reach there, THB170. We reached there around 6 plus and sky getting dark and we did not manage to capture much photo. Suggest you to reached there earlier before 6pm if you want to take a lot of photo n selfie.

Feeding the animal at THB40. Live music, nice place to chill. Food wise is normal.

Print the address and map in Thai language as some drivers don't understand English address.

Returned to hotel at around 11pm.

Hotel room is clean. Not sure why my room does not have toothbrush n toothpaste issued. We need to request for the missing item. Room size is average size. It is sufficient for me. There is a swimming pool with a height 1.4m. Argh I should have brought along my swimming gear. Cos i only learn the basic don't really know how to float in deep water. 1.4m is good for me i can stand and i think my head will be out of the water.  There is a mini gym too.
