Day 5 Bangkok - 09Apr15 to 13Apr15

We checked out and left our luggage at the hotel. We asked the staff if we can book Tuk Tuk to bring us to Esplanade Mall. The hotel staff say it dangerous to take Tuk Tuk today as it is Songkran , everyone will be spraying water at vehicle that passes by. She suggested we take taxi instead.

There is a tour agency cum taxi booth in the hotel. As they are 7 of us the staff suggest we take the bigger taxi which can take 7 pax which will cost THB400. She say it will cost 300 baht for normal taxi. It is more worthwhile to take the 7 seaters.

We went to Esplande Mall for Art in Paradise which is 3D art painting. we spend about 2 hour there. it is a very interesting place to visit, suitable for family. Each family will get free photo as  a door gift.

Lunch at the Wasabi which is one level below Art in Paradise. Shabu Shabu for me.

We took normal taxi back and it cost THB89. The tour agent try to bluff us saying it will cost THB300 baht! We are lucky the taxi we took, the driver can speak simple mandarin. We decide to ask him wait for us to pick up our luggage and then we can go airport in his taxi. The total amount include from Esplande Mall to hotel then to airport cost 400 baht, is cheap.

Food at airport is really expensive all above THB200. Pack your food from places near your hotel and bring to airport and eat. The mango sticky rice cost THB180 at airport it is less than 100 baht at night market.

Buying souvenir or tidbits from airport is not recommended. cos it is much cheaper outside. They should their item selling at the same price as those shops at mall so that people are willing to spend all their leftover cash at airport. Ops i sound cheapskate.

Home sweet home.

Day 4 Bangkok - 09Apr15 to 13Apr15

As we have been sleeping after midnight, on the 4th day we ask the driver to pick us up at 10am instead of 8am.

We are going to The Grand Palace. 1st see so many tour buses! Uncountable, mostly visitors from China. Please wear proper attire if not you have to borrow some sarong and scarf to cover and the queue to borrow stuff is long. Photo taking is so difficult as there's bound to have people walking into your photo. Temple structure and Palace are grand.

At 1pm we are hungry. Lets have lunch at Chatuchak market and follow by shopping. there are so many small lanes and shops. We only walk  the main lane and there are a lot of stuff : utensils, photo frames, pet dog, clothes, sunglasses, home decor and water gun! It is eve of Songkran, some people are geared with water guns shooting each other. Please don't shoot me, I don want to get wet. So i walked the side to avoid the shooting in the middle of the road. I read from some where the Chatuchak is opened at weekend from 6am and 6pm. For those who like to shop, Please give more time for this place as it is huge.

Next stop, we went to RCA Plaza to play Go Kart. THB550 for 8 mins. 6 of us raced. It is fun and my arm aching after trying hard to steer the car.

Dinner at Cabbages and Condoms. hee hee... it is a theme cafe...and from the name you can guess related to condoms. look at the santa's clothes is made by putting a lot of condoms together. Dinner is ok. After we billed, our souvenir is ....

After dinner, we went across the road to Terminal 21, to take photo of the toilets. Sound crazy right. Every floor there is a theme and the toilet is nicely decorated. Thumb up for that effort.

Day 3 Bangkok - 09Apr15 to 13Apr15

Day 3, we are going to Hua Hin which is about 2.5 to 3 hr away from Bangkok. Due to Thai New Year, the highway is jam, it took 4 hours to reach Hua Hin. By the time we reached Hua Hin we are so hungry, our driver brought us to a seafood restaurant for our lunch.

Crab THB650, Crayfish THB500, THB450 fish.

After lunch, we are full of energy, we headed for Santorini Park. Entrance fee THB150. We bought the ticket which include 1 ride, ticket cost THB240.  Most ride is THB120 per ride. If purchase ticket including rides is slightly cheaper.

This place is mainly for photo taking. There is a water theme park looks more promising. We did not visit the water theme park.

Next we went to Swiss Sheep Farm. A good place for photo taking, if it is clear blue sky the photo will turn out wonderful. Feeding the sheep is inclusive in the ticket. Be careful of the grass used to feed the sheep. the side of the leaf is kind of sharp. i got a cut on my finger when the sheep try to pull the grass from my hand.

Donkey, pony, duck, chicken can be found on the farm.

Plearwan is an wooden building, main theme is back to 1960s. The decor inside are oldies. this place for shopping and eating street food and an oldies amusement corner. It is for people who like to look at vintage stuff.

We went to the night market nearby. A lot of BBQ seafood stall. By the time we finished our dinner the street is packed with people. We head back hotel as it will take 2 to 3 hrs to travel.
