The Daily Scoop

The Daily Scoop is an homemade ice cream shop which has been around since 2004. With such a long history: itself is a statement!

I like the ice cream as their sweetness are just right. And i am amazed at how creative they are with flavours. They dare to think out of the box, create ice cream which you cannot find other shop.

From Left to Right:
Laksa (I am impressed!)
Black Sesame
Tiramisu
Butter Scotch

Whisky Almond
Mee Siam (something new!)

1st time seeing Laska and Mee Siam in ice cream form! Decide to give them a try. The mee siam is still ok. The Laksa is Great! I thought i am eating Katong Laksa in cold form. The spicy, herb and dried shrimp all in an ice cream. The usual sweet ice cream is now savory. Savory Ice Cream.

For those of you who don't dare to try the unusual ice cream, their dark chocolate is wonderful too.

No Signboard Braised Duck @ Mei Ling Market

Mei Ling Market is located at a quiet street, Mei Ling Street. Why am I here for? There is a famous braised duck stall – “No Signboard Braised Duck”. The stall start selling in the morning, if u come after 1pm. It might be sold out. Singaporeans like food and we don’t mind queuing for the food. Be prepared to queue for at least 20 mins before your turn.

This is my braised duck with an egg and a bowl of porridge. The meat is tender.  Nice!

A Noodle Story - Amoy Food Center

I want to eat HK style wanton noodle with Japanese style Cha Su and flavored egg. Where to find such combination of dish? Amoy food center  – A Noodle Story.

For SGD5.00 you get to eat a bowl full of ingredients. The HK noodle is chewy, I like the runny egg. Why only half an egg, I would like to have a whole egg. I am a soup person, so I still prefer my noodle to be in soup but this stall only has the dry version.

All the ingredients and flavors made the bowl of noodle quite a mouthful to handle. Complicated.

Maguroya @ Lau Pa Sat - Part 2

I like prawns! This Ebi Don is for those who love prawns. The prawns are raw, only the heads are baked. This is a seasonal dish, 8 pieces for prawns for SGD12.00! It is very hard to find such great deal elsewhere.

Looking at the chef handling the big tuna, while waiting for my Ebi Don.  If u like sashimi at an affordable price, do visit this stall. Fresh and Yummy.
